PersonaTalk ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how
we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application PersonaTalk
(the "App").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of
information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy,
please do not access the App.
Platform note: This Privacy Policy applies to both iOS and
Android versions of PersonaTalk. Some details (such as speech recognition, purchases, and
device settings) may differ by platform; we label platform-specific information as iOS or
Android where relevant.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Personal Information
When you create an account or sign in, we collect:

Authentication Information: Email address, display name, and profile photo (when you
sign in with Apple or Google)
- User ID: We create a unique identifier to manage your account
- Provider Information: The authentication method you used (Apple or Google)
- Email Verification Status: Whether your email has been verified

Locale Information: Your device's language and region settings as the default language
settings for our app.
1.2 Chat and Conversation Data

Voice Input: Audio recordings of your voice are processed on-device and converted to
text using the device speech recognition system:
- iOS: iOS Speech Recognition

Android: Android SpeechRecognizer (your device’s speech recognition provider may
process audio to produce text)
- Text Messages: The messages you send to AI personas

Chat History: Chat content is stored locally on your device. Some message text may be
processed by our servers to provide the App features. Role chat is removed when you leave the role chat
screen.

AI Responses: Responses generated by our AI personas are cached locally on your device

Relationship Metrics: For certain persona types, we may calculate relationship scores
based on your conversation patterns
1.3 Community Content
- Comments: Comments you post on persona profiles
- Likes: Personas and comments you like

Custom Roles (Optional): Role names, descriptions, prompts, and settings you create;
roles are public only if you choose to share them
1.4 Purchase Information

Transaction IDs / Order IDs: Store transaction identifiers for in-app purchases
(Apple App Store on iOS; Google Play on Android)
- Product IDs: The specific products you purchase (lives/credits)
- Lives Balance: Your current balance of consumable credits

Purchase History: Records of your transactions (processed through Apple or Google Play
and RevenueCat)
1.5 Usage Information
- Persona Interactions: Which personas you chat with and how frequently
- Chat Counts: Total number of messages per persona (not per person)
1.6 Device Information
- Audio Capabilities: Microphone and speaker availability
- Network Status: Whether you have an active internet connection

Speech Recognition: Speech recognition availability/authorization status (platform
dependent)
1.7 Diagnostic Information
- Error Logs: Technical logs when errors occur to help us improve the App

Performance Metrics: App performance data like response times and streaming quality
1.8 Input Photos and Generated Images (Mei)

Input Photo (Optional): If you choose to generate a photo of you with Mei, you may
upload a selfie. We use it only to create the requested image for
you and related features you request (e.g., viewing or re-accessing the image).
- Prompts and Settings: Descriptions or style choices used to generate the image.

Prohibited Uploads: Do not upload photos of others without their permission or any
photos of minors.
- Deleting images: You can delete input photos and generated images from the App (for example, by long-pressing an image to remove it).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
2.1 To Provide and Maintain the Service
- Authenticate and identify you
- Process and respond to your chat messages with AI personas
- Generate and stream voice responses
- Manage your lives/credits balance
- Process in-app purchases
2.2 To Enable Community Features
- Display your comments and likes on persona profiles
- Show community engagement metrics
- Moderate user-generated content
2.3 To Improve and Personalize
- Analyze usage patterns to improve AI responses
- Personalize persona recommendations
- Calculate relationship scores for compatible personas
- Optimize audio streaming quality
2.4 To Enable Custom Roles and Image Generation
- Allow you to create, save, and share Custom Roles with built-in safety filters
- Display shared roles to other users after our automated safety reviews

Generate an image of you with Mei based on your input photo, for your personal use. We
do not use your photos or generated images for marketing or model training without your explicit,
revocable opt-in.
- Run automated and human review where necessary to enforce safety policies
- Harmful roles or content may be removed, and accounts may be restricted or banned
- The role creator is responsible for the content of the role and can delete the role at any time
2.4 To Communicate with You
- Send you service-related notifications
- Respond to your support requests
- Notify you of updates or changes to the App
2.5 To Ensure Security and Prevent Fraud
- Detect and prevent fraudulent transactions
- Verify purchase authenticity
- Protect against abuse and spam
- Enforce our Terms of Service
2.6 To Comply with Legal Obligations
- Respond to legal requests and prevent harm
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data for third-party advertising or tracking.
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
3.1 Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, user management, and cloud services
- RevenueCat: In-app purchase management and subscription analytics
- Microsoft Azure: Backend API hosting, AI processing, and audio streaming
- Apple: In-app purchase processing and Sign in with Apple
- Google Play: In-app purchase processing (Android)

AI Image Generation Providers (if used): Services that process prompts and images to
generate the requested photo of you with Mei
These service providers act as our processors: they can access your personal information only to perform
specific tasks on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
3.2 Public Community Content
Comments, likes, and Custom Roles you choose to share are publicly visible to all users of
the App. Your display
name will be shown with your public content.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public
authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
3.4 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will
provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Where We Store Your Data
- Local Storage: Chat content and cached audio responses are stored locally on your device
- Cloud Storage: Account information, comments on Azure servers
4.2 How We Protect Your Data

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS
protocols
- Firebase Authentication tokens are used to secure API requests

We do not store raw voice recordings on our servers. Voice input is processed by the device speech
recognition system to produce text, which is then sent as part of your chat message
- Audio cache files are stored securely in your device's sandboxed directory

If we become aware of a data security incident that affects your information, we will notify you as
required by applicable law.
4.3 Data Retention

Account Information: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period
thereafter
- Chat: Stored locally on your device. Role chat is removed when you leave the role chat screen.
- Comments: Retained indefinitely unless you delete them
- Purchase Records: Retained as required by law and for fraud prevention
- Diagnostic Logs: Retained for 90 days maximum

Custom Roles: Retained while published; removing or unsharing a role hides it from
others

Input Photos: If uploaded, processed to generate the image and then deleted or
stored only as long as needed for the feature (typically short term).

Generated Images: Saved to your device by default; we may keep a copy in your
account for viewing history if you choose to save it. You can delete stored images from your account at
any time.
- Fraud Prevention Identifier: If you delete your account, we may retain your Firebase-generated user_id for 180 days to prevent fraud/abuse (for example, repeated delete-and-relogin to gain free points).
5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
5.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your account information within the App's user profile section.
5.2 Delete Your Data
- Images: You can delete uploaded/generated images inside the App (for example, long-press an image to remove it)
- Chat: Role chat is removed when you leave the role chat screen
- Comments: You can edit or delete your own comments
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account via the button in the profile view.
- Custom Roles: You can unshare or delete roles you created
5.3 Opt-Out Rights

Microphone:
- iOS: Settings > PersonaTalk > Microphone
- Android: Settings > Apps > PersonaTalk > Permissions > Microphone

Speech Recognition: Speech recognition is controlled by your device and its speech
recognition provider (settings vary by platform and device)
- Comments: You can choose not to post comments or likes
6. Children's Privacy
PersonaTalk is rated 17+ and is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly
collect personal
information from children under 17. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us
with personal information, please contact us. If we discover we have collected personal information from a
child under 17, we will delete that information promptly.
7. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party services (e.g., sign-in providers). We are not responsible for the
privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
PersonaTalk uses artificial intelligence to generate conversational responses. Please note:
- AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unexpected
- We implement content filtering, but cannot guarantee all content will be appropriate
- Do not rely on AI responses for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice
- Do not share sensitive personal information in conversations
- We review reported content but cannot monitor all conversations in real-time

AI-Generated Images: Photos generated with Mei are synthetic and may not reflect
reality. Do not use them for identity, medical, legal, or other purposes requiring accuracy.

Safety Filters: Automated filters are applied to roles to help prevent unsafe or
disallowed content; filters are not perfect.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may
have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We take appropriate
safeguards to ensure your data remains protected.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top
- Sending you a notification through the App (for material changes)
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes are effective when
posted.
11. Data Not Used for Tracking
We do not use your data for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. We do not share your
data with data brokers or for advertising purposes.
